GLADSTONE, Mo. – Realty Executives Area Realtors, located in Gladstone and Liberty, is helping to host a charity benefit to help raise money to help the wife of one of their executives.

The “No Limit, Texas Hold ‘Em Poker Tournament,” is open to the public. All proceeds from the event will help pay for medical expenses of Tamara Howard, wife of Russ Howard of Realty Executives. The event includes a dinner, cash prizes and a raffle.

It will be held Friday, August 8 from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. at The Gladstone Community Center, 6901 N. Holmes. Admission is $60 per person for the poker tournament and dinner, or $20 per person for the dinner only. Players will be given $3,150 in poker chips when they register.

Reservations are required by August 6, and may be made by mailing a check to Realty Executives Area Realtors, 100 NW Englewood Road, Gladstone, MO 64118, Attention: Tamara Howard Benefit.

Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three winners. A raffle for a 2008 Yamaha Dirt Bike will also take place, in addition to numerous raffles for prizes from area merchants.

Since traditional therapies have been unsuccessful, Tamara Howard is currently undergoing an experimental trial to treat a very rare form of liver cancer. The Howard’s insurance is not paying for the trial, so the family is fundraising to meet the expenses which are around $200,000.
